Technique Tuesday for Bella Digi Studio

Hi everyone today I am here to bring you Technique Tuesday.

I am sure that you all have worked with chalk before, but have I got something that you are going to love. It is called Chalk-ah-lot and it is powdered chalk. This is a great product as you don't have to spend time scraping chalk off those little squares. This is so convenient and can be used fast and easy. There are several ways to use this chalk. Here are a few ways to use it. Chalk to paper using a Versamark water stamp pad, mix chalk with glue, mix chalk with bubbles, mix chalk with shaving cream, mix chalk with paint and more.

Today, I am going to show you one technique on using this powdered chalk. I am going to mix it with paint. Today I am using Buzz N Magic Paint made by same company that sells the powdered chalk.

Here is the list of supplies that I will be using:

4X4 acrylic block

2 q-tips

Chalk-ah-lot in the color of Foggy

Baby wipe

and my image Dancing mouse

As you can see I printed out the mouse three times in different sizes.

Just to let you all know that this chalk comes in so many colors it is hard to choose. You will have to be like me and get them all. And to say a little goes a long way is an under statement. Once you try Chalk-ah-lot you will not want to go back to the cake form of chalk.

First of all I take the paint and I put a small amount on my acrylic block and then take a little of the chalk and mix it right in. I use one of my q-tips to mix it.

Mix it to the color you want. If you want the color darker just add a little more chalk. Notice I have now snipped the tip off one on my q-tips that is for easier painting as I paint with the q-tips. You don't have to use them but they are easier for me.

I have now painted the first mouse and you can see the color on the paper nicely. I then finish them all up. You can add other colors to this if you wish. I am only using one color in this example. Once your images are finished clean up is a breeze. I just take a baby wipe and the paint just comes off.

There super easy to clean up and you will have a nice finished image. To see the dancing mouse card finished come back on Monday as it is my challenge card. Hope you enjoyed this technique on how to use powdered chalk. Also just to let you know that LuAnn who makes Chalk-ah-lot will be sponsoring our Monday challenge. So stop by and see what a great prize she has for our challenge winner.

Dancing mouse is just one of the fun images that you will find in our store at Bella Digi Studio.

Thanks for stopping.

The weather and Peter

It's Friday, I just love Friday's! Had a few storms come through again last night but we seamed to miss the really bad stuff at our house. Justin had hail at his house.

Poor Aaron was working last night out in it. He works for the BNSF Railroad. Not a job I would want in that weather.

Looks like it is going to be another day of rain and more storms this afternoon. I heard on the news that we only had 5 none rain days in June.

Well on with the show... today I have an old favorite of mine. It is a stamp from Stamp N Plus Scrap N. The image is Peter Pup if you notice there is also a fire hydrant there. I Iris folded the fire hydrant with red foil wrapping paper. I really enjoy the iris folding stamps that this stamp company has come up with. Peter pup is also one of the newest characters they have.

Thanks for stopping by. I would love to hear what you think so please feel free to leave a comment.

Color Scheme Thursday

This is so my style of stamps. I love people, kids and animals. If you are at all like me you will just love these stamps. Today is color scheme day over on Bella Digi Studio's challenge blog, so I chose brown and pink.

So this is from Little Loves and is Millicent. Isn't she cute. I took brown paper as my card and accented it with pink card stock which I embossed hearts on with my big shot.

I colored Millicent with Copic markers. I added some glitz to the flowers and butterfly. I added two large eyelets to finish her off. I Just love her in brown and pink. So if you just love this image as much as I do, look for her here and other great images.

So what do you think? I love to hear from you so please leave a comment.
As always, thanks for stopping. Happy Stamping :)

Bella Digi Studio Challenge Flowers & Pearls

Hi everyone and is it Monday already? Wow did the weekend go fast. Did anyone do anything fun? I was able to work on a few cards from images at Bella Digi Studios.

Today's Challenge is from Lora and her choice was FLOWERS & PEARLS. So with that I am working with he image from Little Loves called Dee Dee. She is so cute all dressed up with her hat.

I decided to work with pinks and oranges for this card. I first picked out my background paper and then the rest of the card stock with those colors in mind.

I colored Dee Dee with my Copics. For embellishments today I used an orange ribbon and a bright pink flower and orange flower brad. I added the two yellow pearls on the bottom middle of the card.

I hope that you liked my card and I can't wait to see what you have done. So hop on over to the challenge blog and see what everyone else has done. Don't forget to link your creation when finished.

Please stop by Bella Digi Studio and see what you just have to have!

Thanks for stopping by.

Phoebe

Happy Sunday! Yesterday I was able to create for a couple of hours. It was a nice cool day here in Northern Wisconsin after a very hot Friday. Mike was busy watching something and I just played in my studio.

Today, I want to do something that will just make you smile. This is a nice card cause you can put any sentiment on the inside.

This image is from Stamp N Plus Scrap N. The image is called Phoebe w/kitty by fence and is X2557. Phoebe is one of Patti's Kids stamps.

So this is how I did the card... I used pink card stock and then picked a pattern paper with soft pink in it. I Stamped Phoebe on white card stock and colored her with my Copic markers. I used a corner scissor to do the corners around the image and the pink card stock . I used the trimmed corner pieces to accent the outer edge.

I hope that you liked Phoebe, and if so stop by and see what else is to your liking at Stamp N Plus Scrap N.

Thanks for taking the time to stop and see what I have been up to. I love to hear from you so please leave a comment as to what you think.

With all the wildlife at my house..

With all the wildlife at my house, I thought I would work on a card with some wildlife. Something cute and cuddly that I am not going to see in my yard.

Most of you know that I live is the country 10 miles from Superior WI. I have a great deal of wildlife that comes through. I have had a pair of fox that enjoy my yard each and every day several times a day. We have a black bear and her two cubs, not to mention a raccoon that is going to have babies. There is even deer that come by to visit.

Here is a photo of my mother to be she is the biggest raccoon that I have ever seen.

Now getting onto my creation. I picked a koala bear and her baby. I made my own background paper with a leaf stamp from Stamp N Plus Scrap N. I then stamped the koala stamp F1240 and colored with Copic markers. I added a chalk shimmer over the top of the two bears. You can't really see how it looks in the photo, but adds a nice touch. I took leaves that I die cut from my Sizzix die and put pop dots on the back for some dimension.

Hope that you like the card and enjoy the photos of my wildlife. Thanks for stopping and please feel free to leave a comment I love hearing from you.

Wow...did we have weather

Just wanted to mention that we had big storms go through here last night. Minnesota saw over 35 tornado's. As you know I live by the border of MN and WI. So it was kinda scary. There as some bad tornado's close to MPLS. Thank goodness we came out of it with no damage as most of the bad weather was 20 miles south of us.

Today it is hot we have 90 at our house. What a beautiful day. Hope you are all enjoying your Friday. Stop back tomorrow as I will have a card that I did for Stamp N Plus Scrap N.

Happy Friday

Sketch Wednesday... Bella Digi Studio

Hi all I am doing the Sketch Wednesday over on Bella Digi Studios Challenge Blog today so I wanted to share with you what I came up with.

I wanted to do a simple clean card so I came up with the this sketch. I was able to do this quickly using paint on my computer. It is great to keep a file of sketches for new fresh ideas.

Here is the sketch and the finished card. As you can see I just used one image. isn't she a sweet image? In fact she is called Sweetie and is from the Little Loves Series. You can find Sweetie and the rest of our beautiful images at Bella Digi Studio.

I have three different layers to this card and each layer is matted. The only other things I added to this card is a strip of ribbon to finish it off. Sweetie is colored with Copic markers. I added a little ink around her image to complete her look.

Hope you like what you have seen and if so please leave me a comment.
Thanks for stopping by today, happy stamping.

Welcome to our first blog hop for Bella Digi Studio

So today is Monday and the day of our first blog hop. Bella Digi Studio is a new digi stamp company that I am sure you will love. Daphne the owner and our artist has come up with great images that truly are fun to use.

If you are here for the blog hop I am the last Diva on the hop. If you didn't come in that order please go to the Challenge Blog and follow in the order.

Our challenge this week is to have the sentiment as a focus. I knew that I could still do that and have one of her great images with it. I just had to they are too cute not to use. So here is Daisy, isn't she cute sitting on a mushroom. She truly is special.

So this is how I put this card together. I took patterned paper and put it through my big shot with the oval scalloped frame. I used the part left over to frame my image. Then I placed that on mint colored card stock. I added that to the white card stock card I made. I colored Daisy with my Copic markers. I added two lavender flowers to bring out that color in my patterned paper. Under the flowers you will see a strip of ribbon. With the sentiment I printed that out on white card stock. I then added mint card stock and finished it off with another layer of white card stock again.

I hope that you like her! You will see more of my Bella Digi Studio designs each week. Here and on the Challenge Blog.

Well now you should have finished the blog hop. Please remember to leave a comment and become a follower to have a chance at my blog candy. Which is a handmade card from one of the Bella Digi Studio images. Yep, the winner gets a surprise handmade cards from me. :)

How to play: To participate in the Weekly Challenge, please create a *new* project using any Bella Digi image following the current week's theme. You must link to your project using the link tool at the bottom of the post on the main Bella Challenge Blog. A winner will be chosen via random.org and that person will receive the blog candy listed in the challenge post. In addition, the DT will choose their favorite three projects from all participants and ONE winner will be chosen to be the following week's Guest Designer. To be considered for the top three, you must have purchased an image from the shop (unless otherwise noted)...however, you don't have to use the purchased image in that week's challenge. During New Release Blog Hops a special blinkie will be embedded into one DT member's post. If you find that image, make sure you note it in your comment on that blog. One winner will be chosen at random to receive ONE new pre-selected image from that month's release.

So if you are here first please go to the Challenge Blog to start at the beginning. Here is the order for the Diva's. You will finish up with me, last but not least.

Video of the bears...

So cute, but a little scarry! This is the bears on my deck. It has been raining for days so they are all wet and left paw prints everywhere.

Umbrella Fashion

Welcome to Saturday's post!

It has been a rainy weekend so far. All my plans have had to change. I was supposed to be part of a 7 mile rummage sale, but my son doesn't have a garage at his house. We are all hoping for good weather today but more of the same.

Any who... it gave me time to create and get more of my new stamps ready to use. I was so happy when I went to the mail box on Friday and got stamps from two companies. Funny thing last time I got there stamps on the same day too.

So today I have a stamp from Stamp N Plus Scrap N. This stamp is called Umbrella Fashion. I think it is a very elegant stamp. I love the old fashion style of it.

I have stamped her on vellum and colored the back with my Stampin Up markers. I attached her with eyelets to card stock and used coordinating printed paper as an accent. One last touch was purple ribbon. The sentiment is also from Stamp N Plus Scrap N. Hope that you like what I did with her.

As always thanks for stopping by. Feel free to leave a comment as I love to hear from you.

There are no words....

I recently started to design for DRS Designs as a card stylist. It is so much fun and I just love the stamps.

This is one of the sentiments that I picked out as I often need a nice sympathy card. I love this one as it says what we all think.

I first stamped white card stock with the background stamp. Next I stamp the saying on another piece of white card stock. I then matted them both on some darker green card stock. I added ribbon and two pearls to finish it off. Simple and clean is the style of this card.

There are no words to express is Go68 and Silhouette Branch is H1011 found here at DRS Designs along with many more wonderful images.

Thanks for stopping by today and please tell me what you think.

I just had a visitor........... a must see!

So I just had to show you all who came to visit. I watch a 14 month old baby. Since he was 8 months old you could ask him how does a bear go and he would growl.

So poor Oliver was sound a sleep when the bear came into my yard. Yep, I knew he had slept for two hours wake him up.

So there we are in the living room looking out my great window to the likes of this. At first Oliver was clinging to me not knowing what it was. I said it is a bear and then he started to do his growl. The bear was here about 15 minutes we watched and took pics. Then it left.

Five minutes later the bear returned. This time he took a tour of our ENTIRE yard, and do I have the photos to prove it. This time he wanted the bird feeder so I knocked on the window and he just looked at me. The bear walked away and then came back to the window to look at us. This time Oliver knocked at the window, he got to close for us. It was so cute to see him so excited.

Hope you enjoy the photos and have a great day!

Hope your felling better!

I can't believe how many of my friends have been sick lately. I sure hope that I don't get anything. With that thought in mind here is today's card.

This card was done with two great stamps from DRS Designs. First I used the flower border stamp H1076.

I stamped the flower border twice and colored it with Copic markers.

I next Stamped Hope you're feeling better stamp E388. You can find these stamps and many more fun stamps at DRS Designs.

As always, I love to hear what you think so feel free to leave me a comment. Thanks for stopping to see my latest creation. I have many more fun cards in the next few days.

Happy stamping!

Croak...croak

Croak... croak, yes you guess it a frog. It is that time of year that I get a few frogs in my yard. We actually have a toad that visits us at the hot tub. It is quite funny when you open the cover and see a toad hanging out on the edge of the hot tub. It is amazing to me that he never goes where he can't get out.

So here is my card for today. It is another great in age from Stamp N Plus Scrap N. This is actually a set that they have there.

What I did with this card is stamped the frog twice. I colored all images with Copic markers. I cut out the three images. I placed the lily pad on the white card stock then placed on of the frogs directly on the pad. The next frog I added foam to the back and then placed it directly on top of the other frog to give it dimension. I added a mist of green ink around the frog with my air brush attachment to my Stampin Up markers.

Simple and clean. Hope you like it.

Thanks for stopping see you again soon.

Black and White

Hi everyone, it is a gloomy day up north today. Makes a great day to make cards and watch movies.

Today I am featuring a stamp form Stamp N Plus Scrap N. This is from the heritage line.

This is called Henna Tattoo. I wanted to do something different with it, so I did it in just back and white. I added mulberry paper in both colors. I stamped the image on graphed paper and then trimmed her and placed her on white card stock. I added a loop of ribbon to use as a wall hanging.

Look for a variety of wonderful stamps from Stamp N Plus Scrap N. With new stamps coming soon be sure to stop by there often.

Thanks for stopping by today to see what I have been up too. I love to hear from you so feel free to leave me a comment.
