A fun way to use chalk!

Powdered Chalk
Hi everyone today I am here to bring you a fun Technique.

I am sure that you all have worked with chalk before, but have I got something that you are going to love. It is called Chalk-ah-lot and it is powdered chalk. This is a great product as you don't have to spend time scraping chalk off those little squares. This is so convenient and can be used fast and easy. There are several ways to use this chalk. Here are a few ways to use it. Chalk to paper using a Versamark water stamp pad, mix chalk with glue, mix chalk with bubbles, mix chalk with shaving cream, mix chalk with paint and more.

Today, I am going to show you one technique on using this powdered chalk. I am going to mix it with paint. Today I am using Buzz N Magic Paint made by same company that sells the powdered chalk.

Here is the list of supplies that I will be using:

4X4 acrylic block
2 q-tips
Chalk-ah-lot in the color of Foggy
Baby wipe
and my image Dancing mouse
As you can see I printed out the mouse three times in different sizes.

Just to let you all know that this chalk comes in so many colors it is hard to choose. You will have to be like me and get them all. And to say a little goes a long way is an under statement. Once you try Chalk-ah-lot you will not want to go back to the cake form of chalk.
First of all I take the paint and I put a small amount on my acrylic block and then take a little of the chalk and mix it right in. I use one of my q-tips to mix it.

Mix it to the color you want. If you want the color darker just add a little more chalk. Notice I have now snipped the tip off one on my q-tips that is for easier painting as I paint with the q-tips. You don't have to use them but they are easier for me.

I have now painted the first mouse and you can see the color on the paper nicely. I then finish them all up. You can add other colors to this if you wish. I am only using one color in this example. Once your images are finished clean up is a breeze. I just take a baby wipe and the paint just comes off.

There super easy to clean up and you will have a nice finished image. Hope you enjoyed this technique on how to use powdered chalk.
You can find Chalk-Ah-Lot here and they also have a new challenge blog coming in January!   Be a follower and play along with them to win chalk and or stamps.

Thanks for stopping by today!

With that said we have a sponsor this week. Stamp N Plus Scrap N is sponsoring our chalk challenge and will be giving some lucky winner a set of 12 powdered chalks, a grid and eraser. I would personally like to thank LuAnn for doing this. This is over $40 dollars in value and the lucky winner is going to love them.

Last week on Tuesday I should a technique with chalk and paints. I hope you are all ready for the end result of that card. Here are the 3 mice you have all been waiting for.
Stop by and see what all the other Bella Digi Studio DT members have created. Don't forget to give them a little love, we all need love.

Now lets see what you can all do with chalks. Remember the lucky winner will receive a great prize package.

Here's How To Play: To participate in the Weekly Challenge, please create a *new* project using any Bella Digi image following the current week's theme. With all the wildlife at my house..

With all the wildlife at my house, I thought I would work on a card with some wildlife. Something cute and cuddly that I am not going to see in my yard.

Most of you know that I live is the country 10 miles from Superior WI. I have a great deal of wildlife that comes through. I have had a pair of fox that enjoy my yard each and every day several times a day. We have a black bear and her two cubs, not to mention a raccoon that is going to have babies. There is even deer that come by to visit.

Here is a photo of my mother to be she is the biggest raccoon that I have ever seen.

Now getting onto my creation. I picked a koala bear and her baby. I made my own background paper with a leaf stamp from Stamp N Plus Scrap N. I then stamped the koala stamp F1240 and colored with Copic markers. I added a chalk shimmer over the top of the two bears. You can't really see how it looks in the photo, but adds a nice touch. I took leaves that I die cut from my Sizzix die and put pop dots on the back for some dimension.

Hope that you like the card and enjoy the photos of my wildlife. Thanks for stopping and please feel free to leave a comment I love hearing from you.

Cat Lover....

Another great day out I just love to see the sun.

You can tell from this image that she is enjoying the great outdoors too. The sweet bird flying near her head and her cat at her side.

This is a stamp from Stamp N Plus Scrap N. It is called the Cat Lover and is one of the stamps from the Patti's Kids line.

I like the way pink and orange look together so I decided to use those colors. I took some textured paper and rubbed pink and orange chalk on it. I added an orange ribbon to the side of the image. The image was colored with Copic markers. I added a flower and a brad to finish her off.

Hope you enjoyed this card and glad you stopped by.

Happy Stamping :)

Only a Dreamer...

Today is a day for day dreams. I have some and I hope that they come true. I created this card with a cute stamps from Stamp N Plus Scrap N.

She can be found in the Fantasy section or just click here for a fast link to her.

I stamped her with black ink and then colored her in with chalk. What you say, that doesn't' look like chalk. Well it is chalk mixed with paint to create a look of gloss. All I had to do was take a little bit of the colored that I wanted, put it onto a acrylic block and mix with white glossy paint. and wallah I was ready to color my image. I like to use an acrylic block for my paint pallet as it just wipes clean with a baby wipe.

Stamp N Plus Scrap N has the best chalks that I have ever worked with. LuAnn has come up with a powdered chalk called Chalk-Ah-Lot. There are so many ways to use these chalks with paint, glue, mixed with bubbles and more. They are so easy to use that you will never go back to the cake ones that you have to scratch at. There is a huge variety of colors that include fluorescent and metallic.

Now back to what I did with the rest of the card. I layered her on card stock with brads and added a flower and some beads. I like this clean and simple look.

Yes Only a Dreamer... Can Make Dreams Come True....

Thanks for stopping by and taking a look. I love to hear from you so please feel free to leave a comment.

Calla Lillies

Spring is here and I am so excited. I came home from Florida to see more of my flowers coming up in the yard. The tulips should be opening up this week. Wow is that early. I love flowers and saw so many beautiful flowers while in Florida. So flowers is the inspiration for this card.

Here is a simple but fun card. I used the same stamp to make the background as the main image. I used chalk to color the flowers and leaves.

As always I love to hear from you, so feel free to leave a message or even a question.

Thanks for stopping! Happy Stamping....

Time to think.....

I have had to do some hard thinking in the last few days. I just lost my grandmother and am responsible for the service. It really makes you reflect on your own life and how short it really is.

This card is just a simple but fresh card done with chalk. I prefer the powdered chalk as it is wonderful to work with. Just stamp your image in versamark and apply the chalk with a cotton ball. I love all the soft pastel colors with the burgundy card stock frame.

It makes me smile as I think about standing in the ocean next month and enjoying the sites. I can see me in this card. Maybe I can even get a photo of me doing just this.

Thanks for stopping by and looking. As always, I love to hear from you. So please leave a message and tell me what you think. Happy Stamping, till next time....

A precious baby card

So I wanted to do a card with a few different techniques. In this baby card you will find that I have Iris Folded the round part of the baby rattle. I mixed Chalk-Ah-Lot chalk with white paint and painted the bow and handle. I added a cute quilled baby rattle to the bottom for just a little extra touch.

The colors used in this card are nice cause they can be used for boy or girl. Make a few and have them on hand for the upcoming baby shower season.

You can find this stamp at Stamp N Plus Scrap N and you will find that Chalk-Ah-Lot chalk is the best chalk you have ever used. No more scrapping hard chalk so easy to use and so many ways to use it.

Thanks for stopping by and leaving a note. Please stop by again. Happy stamping. Tammy
